A rewarding part of my job is the preview session.
Of course, watching moms see pictures of their children is lots of fun - it makes my work worthwhile.
But there's another helpful piece that my clients love: the portrait wall design.
We take a phone photo of the wall a client wants to fill, and design a custom collage of portraits, just for that space. The software learns the size of the wall, so we can decide the proper picture proportions for the space.
In the past, I've watched clients convince themselves an 8x10 will do, when the spot screams for a 20x30! Now we compare and contrast sizes & layouts; we can even email family members a final.
Want to see how photos will look on your wall? Here's what to do:
1. measure the length of something on the wall -- or, tape a piece of letter-size paper up there.
2. take a picture of your wall, straight-on. If there is furniture or other things on the wall nearby, be sure to include those in the photo.
3. text or email the photo to me, with the dimension of the thing you measured.
Have other art you'd like to mix in with your new portraits? Let me know, we can set that up in the software also.
