Pricing is tricky to post on a website, as there are 4 million photo products one could sell, and 3.9 million won't apply to you.
Up front, I charge a $400 sitting fee with a $600 product credit. That is $1,000 to book, of which $600 will be applied to the cost of your final product.
The $400 sitting fee includes our pre-shoot meeting, the photo shoot, our photo preview/purchase meeting, and all phone conversations as needed. If you have questions about clothing, weather, the walls of your house, the direction of the sun, ecetera - I'm happy to take the time to discuss it!
Clients typically spend $1,500 to $3,000.
However, if you aren't happy with your photo shoot and do not want any products, I'm happy to return the entire $1,000.
I do not sell digital files.
After favorite images are chosen, it is important to me to create the best art for your collection. I've got loads of experience with photo products -- papers that will work best with your image, product longevity, the styles that will look ideal in your home. Next, I spend time with each image in photoshop. During this time, I remove blemishes, brighten faces, remove distractions, occasionally swap a head from a different image . . . all skills I have honed with education and years of experience with the software. Next, I send your image to a professional lab where each product is hand-crafted and inspected by a professional printer before delivery. And then, I go over the product again. If something isn't right, we re-do it.
These days, your options as a consumer are to take your digital file to a big box store or an online mass-printing company. A machine will print your order. Will it be color accurate? Depends on the day.
As a professional print artist, I fell I'm leaving half my expertise on the table if I sell you digital files. You hired me to be the expert, and I want you to have the best final product possible.
All that said, I know it's important to share family photos on social media. If you order a product, I will include a fully edited 'social media-sized' file of that image. You are welcome to share it online.
Generally, I lighten under eyes, whiten teeth, brighten skin & soften wrinkles a bit. But I feel it is important that people look like themselves, so I will not turn anyone into Christy Brinkley.
I want you to look like the best you at the age you are now. If you are older than 40, you should have a few wrinkles! I might lighten wrinkles so we see your eyes first, but you wouldn't look like yourself if I removed them and made you look 20.
Every mother asks. The answer: Yep! The great thing about those children you blame for your weight gain is that they can be strategically placed in front of you in a photo -- and you're instantly half the size!
The small things that bother you about yourself -- beer belly, a neck roll, ears that stick out, etc. -- can be disguised during the photo shoot. As long as I know what those things are. They are often much harder to impossible to fix after the photo shoot is done.
Whatever your insecurities, please tell me about them before the photo shoot. We will discreetly handle it! The goal of your photo shoot is to get images YOU love, so this is important!!
I always compare sushi places by the taste of their California rolls, because they all have California rolls on the menu! (BEST: Sushi Den in Denver -- pricy, but delicious.)
Over the years of being a photographer, I've noticed that many people comparison shopping will pick a photographer based on their price of an 8x10 print.
Just as the chef at Sushi Den knows his restaurant is more than the flavor of one specific roll, my business is more than an 8x10. When you purchase a product from me, you are also paying for services: a thoughtful consult about products that will fit in your home and lifestyle. An edit of the image, to be sure everyone looks their best. Outfit advising, so your final piece of art works in the area you want to hang it.
My price for ONLY an 8x10 is $95. Frankly, if all you'd like out of a photo shoot is an 8x10 or two, you will be happier with a different photographer.
